Stewart Pyers owner of Bicycle Superstore in Warrnambool invited SRAM's Rob Eva and Dan Moore from Monza Imports to come down to sunny Warrnambool to demonstrate the new(ish) SRAM XX groupset. Stewie has run road workshops for the last 7 years but this was his first attempt to do something of this kind for the MTB riders and anyone else that was interested around the place. Perfect weather conditions set the scene for some test riding.

The boys brought with them five GT Zaskar Carbon Team XX hardtails in small and medium, but no large as someone had done something horrible to it in Canberra.

Retail worth about $7000 each. 2 x 10 drive train. A good bike to do hour laps in a six hour perhaps. Those handlebars are really wide and caused a fair bit of comment. Super light.

The RockShox lock out button can be seen on the right of the handlebar above the pivot for the brake lever. One interesting touch was the brake levers having a forward setting which locked the pads in for wheel removal.

Most of the rear cluster is machined from a single piece of steel.
Thanks to the guys at Bicycle Superstore Warrnambool for going to the trouble of setting up the event and to Rob Eva and Dan Moore for taking the time out of their busy schedules to come and visit our corner of the world.
