Warrnambool Mountain Bike Club

FAQs

Warrnambool Mountain Bike Club. Faq will contain some answers. We also give you more event details on the Calendar page.

Do we ride regularly?

Yes, members are buzzing around doing their own thing throughout the year. Riders usually meet on a Wednesday night at 6 leaving from Albert Park for an informal unorganized ride about town during daylight savings.

Keep an eye on the calendar page for social rides and other events.

What riding does Warrnambool offer?

The only single track close to town is in the Thunder Point Coastal Reserve, but this is not a dedicated MTB area so please watch out for others.

The Warrnambool area also has a strong road cycling scene and many races and rides are organised by the Port Fairy Cycling Club and the Warrnambool Veterans Cycling Club.
Many of the main roads around town have cycling lanes and the foreshore promenade is a shared use trail that can be ridden on.

Check out the Warrnambool City Council Bike map for more details: WCC Bikeable Brochure .

What else is there?

Warrnambool has all sorts of accomodation from caravan parks to fully self contained apartments.
Restaurants & Cafes in abundance and the beach is always a good option as well as a big series of kids playgrounds just off the beach for those with grommets. The Otways and the big trails at Forest are close as well as Warrnambool being at the end of the Great Ocean Road.

Weather...

Warm to Hot in summer but cooler at night than inland, cold and wet in winter, it doesn't snow but exposure to Bass Strait means that there is usually a breeze about. lots of sand in the soil mean that it drains very well so even after rain heavy mud is at a minumum.
